An Eco Friendly Shopping Bag Manufacturer. Not a Middleman.
Since 2015, Sara International has been manufacturing and exporting jute, juco and cotton bags from our own units in Kolkata, India. Our bags go out to retail chains and shopping centres, restaurants and cafés, and corporate gifting programmes across [your export markets]. We are not a trading house forwarding your order to a factory floor we’ve never walked through — we are the factory. Your artwork goes straight to the people who cut, print and stitch it, which is why our per-piece pricing holds up and why you get a quote in 24 to 48 hours instead of a fortnight.
We work in natural fibre only. No polypropylene, no rPET, no “eco-friendly” plastic with an asterisk. Our bags biodegrade completely at the end of their life, and every one is built to be reused for years before it gets there.

Our Process
Design & Development
Send us artwork, a reference photo, or a rough idea on the back of an envelope. Our in-house team builds it out — dimensions, fabric colour, handle length and style, gusset width, print placement — and returns a production-ready spec. We develop new designs from scratch; we do not just drop your logo onto a catalogue bag. Custom-dyed colours are available if the standard range does not match your brand.
Sampling
We produce a physical prototype to your exact spec — design, colour, size, logo placement — and ship it to you. Provide your international courier account number (FedEx, UPS, DHL or TNT) and it goes out on your account. Catalogue samples are often complimentary; custom samples that need a new production run carry a development fee, quoted up front.
Material Sourcing & Production
Once you sign off the sample, we procure fibre and open the line at our Kolkata units. Sitting inside the world’s jute belt means we buy raw material at source — an advantage no importer routing through a trading house can match on either price or lead time. We have the in-house team and infrastructure to take on high-volume, time-sensitive runs.
Quality Control
Quality is checked at every stage, not just at the end. Raw material is inspected on arrival. Stitching, printing and embroidery are checked in line. Every finished bag is inspected against your approved sample before it is packed. Anything that misses spec is reworked or rejected before it reaches a carton.
Packaging
Retail-ready if you need it: hang tags, barcodes, polybags, brand inserts and master-carton marking to your specification. We pack for your shelf, not for our warehouse.
Shipping & Export
Bulk orders ship by sea freight, FCL or LCL, on FOB, CIF or the Incoterm you prefer. Air freight is available when the deadline demands it. We prepare the full documentation set ourselves — commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and whatever else your customs authority asks for. Your bags leave our floor and we stay on the paperwork until they clear yours.

Sustainable Durable
Search for eco-friendly shopping bags and most of what comes back is polypropylene, rPET, or a “compostable” bioplastic that only breaks down inside an industrial facility your customer will never visit. It is plastic wearing a green label.
Jute is a plant. It grows in around 120 days, needs almost no pesticide, absorbs carbon while it grows, and returns to the soil when its working life is over. Cotton and juco behave the same way. There is no microplastic stage, no landfill afterlife, no asterisk at the bottom of the page.
A well-made jute shopping bag from our floor will replace hundreds of single-use plastic bags before it wears out — and then it composts. That is the entire argument, and it is one most of our competitors physically cannot make.
